SPRINGFIELD – The Senate State Government and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Development is holding a hearing Thursday, April 4, in Naperville to discuss a proposal sponsored by State Senator Andy Manar (D–Bunker Hill) aimed at restructuring the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity – the lead state agency responsible for economic development in the state. The purpose of this hearing will be to discuss economic development in Illinois as well as hear testimony from business leaders and economic development organizations regarding the role of public-private partnerships in business and economic development.
