Taylorville Senior Citizen Fair

Date: Aug. 20, 2014
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location: Taylorville Senior Center, 701 W. Adams St., Taylorville
Services available:

  • Rules of the road classes from the Secretary of State’s office  
  • Warnings on senior scams from the Attorney General’s office 
  • Free health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes provided by area hospitals and senior health organizations 
  • Information on senior programming and benefits from the Department on Aging 
  • Flu shots from Walgreens (insurance card required) 
  • Program information from the Area on Aging for Lincolnland Inc., Pana Community Hospital, Taylorville Memorial Hospital and Christian County Public Health Department

Decatur Senior Citizen Fair    

Date: Sept. 3, 2014
Time: 9 – 11 a.m.
Location: Decatur Senior Center, 1430 N. 22nd St., Decatur
Services available:

  • Rules of the road classes from the Secretary of State’s office 
  • Warnings on senior scams from the Attorney General’s office
  • Free health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes provided by area hospitals and senior health organizations 
  • Information on senior programming and benefits from the Department on Aging 
  • Program information from AARP, Community Home Environmental Learning Project, East Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging Inc., Dove and other area health care providers

  • Driver’s license renewal from the Secretary of State’s Mobile Unit 
  • Warnings on senior scams from the Attorney General’s office 
  • Free health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes provided by area hospitals and senior health organizations 
  • Information on senior programming and benefits from the Department on Aging 
  • Program information from the Macoupin County Public Health Department, the Macoupin County Transit Authority and area hospitals
